Pawning During the Coronavirus Shutdown

The Coronavirus shutdown is affecting all of us in one way or another. Some financially, unable to work or waiting longer than usual for payments.  Sources for cash to pay for essentials such as food and bills may be limited, but you can still rely on your local CT pawnshop during this time.

If you need cash during the Coronavirus shutdown, Meriden Pawn is pleased to help.  As a service that many people rely on when finances are tight, pawnshops such as ours have been allowed to remain open (at the time of this writing).  Our cash checking shop – Pro Check Cashing LLC is also open with limited service. We are currently accepting bill payments, selling money orders and  processing checks.

You can still visit our shop, pawn and sell items as usual. However please be aware that there are some changes to our service:

Keeping you safe during the Coronavirus outbreak

As you would expect our customers and our staff’s safety is of upmost importance during this time and we have introduced measures to keep everyone safe when visiting our shop.

  • We are currently letting no more than two people in at a time.
  • Sales of items are limited, our showroom is mostly closed.
  • We ask that customers call us before visiting our shop to discuss whether we can accept your item.
  • We are asking people who are unwell to kindly not visit our shop at this time.

Pawning and selling your items – Changes to service

We currently have limited space in our shop and are only accepting certain items.  To avoid disappointment and a wasted journey please call us before coming to the shop. We can let you know if we are likely to accept your item or not. This will avoid an unnecessary journey for you.

Rest assured that your pawned items will remain secured at our shop as usual, ready for you to collect when a time is convenient to you.

We are aware that many of our customers know us as a place to come to get great prices on gold.  We may still be accepting gold jewelry and scrap gold, however, things are changing daily here so please call to confirm.
